During our 2025 Ango Entering Sesshin, Gyodo Sensei introduces the Ango theme “Karma and Crisis” with reflections on karma and the nature of choice and agency in our lives.

We live in a stream of agency, all the time. Where are we putting our heart? Where are we putting our attention? What are we cultivating?

Our practice is to become intimate with what happens when we make a choice to do one thing or another — whether to scratch that itch, to deny or turn toward reality, to avoid or engage with something difficult — and how our choices manifest within our own body-mind in this moment and throughout space and time.
