In the wake of the violent antisemitic attack in Boulder, Colorado during a peaceful vigil calling for the release of hostages held by Hamas, Gyodo Sensei reflects on the turmoil of our current times. The three poisons of greed, hatred and ignorance are being magnified and acted out throughout the world.

In the midst of such suffering, our practice is much needed. We are called to meet this moment, this time, with the spirit of Bodhisattva Jizo, protector of the vulnerable, and by our vows. The time is now to act from our heart, to protect the innocent from harm. How do we respond?
