Dhyana Paramita: The Perfection of Meditation | Geoff Shōun O'Keeffe

Norman Fischer has said that meditation is the foundation for the first four paramitas. A still, non-reactive mind is necessary to express generosity, morality, patience, and joyful effort or vigor.

It is a practice that has been with us forever, it is part of our human experience. As Daido Loori Roshi wrote: “Since the beginning of human history, the still point has served as the birthplace of all our activity.”

We do zazen with everything, embodied, intimately. When we lose ourself in thoughts again, we simply come back to this still point, over and over again. This is our practice.
